Giving the top a go

I have blogged previously about a Jungle print top that I love. So I decided to replicate it like I did with the dress. I also thought I would try to make a pattern so if it turned out well then I could make more and not have to go to too much trouble.
I am a big fan of recycling paper and I have heaps so have used that paper to make my pattern.
I just used double cellotape to put it all together and glued any loose parts.
Just like this!!
I laid out my top on the paper and drew around it with pencil. I checked and double checked this.
I made a seam allowance and cut out the pattern
I drew in vivid the inside line and made up a new sheet for the back pattern.
I then blue tacked it all together and stuck it to the window so I could get an accurate copy of the front pattern for the back pattern
This is how it turned out, looking pretty professional.
I placed it on the fabric I wanted and away I went with the sewing. Super basic pattern and easy to do.
Also Sewing is way better when your in your PJs watching trashy TV.
So after and shower and a change this was the outcome. Fits perfect and am thinking of a pattern or picture I could print on the front. I think it will make it look pretty rad.
Was good to accomplish something for the day.

Erbs

The Warehouse has delivered on their low, low prices. I got this here tub, potting mix and three herbs for only $20. Don't they look deeeelish!!

Week two of growing my own veggies and they are growing like little troopers! The spinach and broccoli have sprouted big time. Maybe another couple of weeks before we can make a salad of the lettuce though.

My new dress

So I had this gorgeous green fabric that my Mumma had given me and I'd been thinking about what to do with it for ages. I also have a wee dress that I love so I decided to try to copy it...minus the elastic around the middle because the fabric is stretchy enough.

I put the dress over top of the fabric and made a 1cm seam allowance.

I also wanted to add detailing to the front of the dress in the shape of the leaf, that I drew with chalk

Then I did a long stitch thing to make the shape.

This is the detailing

Then I pinned it up, sewed it up, un picked it and started again
by the way this fabric super hard to work with.

This is the out come!!

and the Booty shot

Super casual and summery and will be perfect for hot sunny days.

I have accomplished something today!!

Loved the Banksy film last night, it was amazing to see how they completed their work of art in the middle of the night. Mister Tom and I went away planning our very own works of art. Hugely inspiring!

Decided to do a spot of Gardening, grabbed some small pottles of veggies from the Warehouse....I don't really have any idea what I am doing...

Tools of the Trade

My little garden with my grasses and random little broccoli plants, they are so cute!

Lettuce in their little pots, I am hoping that they will actually grow

It'll be nice to eat our own veges and not have to buy them
Yay for Gardening

Boy Racers are Douchbags

I hate boy racers who think they rule the world. I don't think they'd be so cocky without a car to whisk them away after throwing insults.

Boy Racer = Douche bag to the extreme with very small penises

So I have started storyboarding my short film, The beginning and the end will be the same location and pretty much the same shots. The beginning will be more emotional with quicker shots and more close ups. The end will just be a close up and then a wide.

The middle will be a serious of short 'moment in time' clips. Once I have finalised what those will be I can then storyboard them too. The best part about having lots of time on my hand (apart from having less money) is I get to make my storyboard wall look pretty rad. It'll be easy to move them around and swap and change it.

Short FIlm

So I am shockingly bad at posting on this blog. So I have refreshed and started over again.

I have found a comp that I could enter a short film into. Currently planning as we speak!... We aren't really speaking, Im typing and at a later date you'll be reading. So most of my planning will be done by then... If procrastination doesn't set in.

The short film will feature me and Mister Tom, I am also filming it on Mister Toms little digital camera which ends up with a grainy cool effect. Will post it once I am done and entered the comp.

I hate planning in books. I love my planning to be large and up on a wall were I can stand in front of it and blue tack more thoughts up or take down or swap around. A giant white board would be champion in these situations.

This is currently our living room wall, It will get bigger and bigger as I have more ideas. I spent most of last night thinking about it.

Off to do more planning and maybe make a bit of lunch.

Peace
