Things to Say

I have a lot of things I want to say but I'm not sure how to say them. I have a lot of feelings but I'm not sure how to express them. I have a lot of things I want to do but I'm not sure how to do them.

It has taken me 20minutes to write this.

I will blog when I sort out my mind.

Classical Sparks in the Park

Mister Tom and I went to Classical Sparks in the park on Saturday night. We took along a picnic and a bottle of cider and settled in. Once it turned dark there were so many photo opportunities and these are just a small selection of what we got. It was a really good night listening to well played music and being surrounded by lots of families. The firework display was amazing.

The big flood lights were great fill lights and subtly lit people from the side. It was enough to let light into the camera with out turning on the flash.

It was such an amazing crowd atmosphere

We are also trying to get some cool effects with our holga lense. I managed to get enough light into the camera to get a wee bit of definition on Mister Toms face.

Free Glow Sticks!!

The Fireworks were amazing and I love looking around at all the amazed faces being lit up with each boom.

It was a beautiful night and a perfect way to spend a Saturday night.

Short Edit

So I have been working on a short film. This is a short edit of the actual film and I still have to deal with the sound. Would love some feed back on it all ready as I work on finishing the whole thing.

Mister Tom was so looking forward to Kite day and had even made a beautiful crepe paper kite to fly. Unfortunately it was gail force winds and we were pelted with sand as we misioned our way up to the pier at Brighton. We did how ever get some nice pictures!

Mister Tom wishing he could fly his kite

Many people atempting to fly their kites and failing!

Alice getting blasted by the wind. I love the movement in this photo.
We will have to fly our kite another day :)

Buskers Festival

Christchurch's Buskers Festival is in full swing and I had the pleasure of spending a few hours taking photos and watching some buskers around town. It's an amazing atmosphere with hundreds of people from all around the world smiling and laughing. Good photography practise too!

This couple made me smile, I don't know why. I think it's because they look so touristy.
Check out this site . I think what they do is amazing. To see this mural slowly come to life using tape is pretty rad.
This guy happily posed for me. His Toilet could drive around and he toed a bath carrying a girl. Pretty funny!
Everyone needs a break now and again and this food caravan is pretty cool.
I loved how everyone gets involved and these girls were in their element showing off their dance moves.
Musings for the day, This was before I found my eye for taking photos for the day.

''Wasting away the afternoon trawling through books. Inspired by photography but lacking inspirations in the everyday things I see around me.
People all around me. So many faces soaking the sun up. Feeling the rays hit my face, arms and neck. I love the warmth that I feel.
Not feeling like I want to talk. My mind is doing enough of that for me.
Snippets of conversation. Being removed yet participating in this mass, this throng that has invaded the square. I'll try to capture this atmosphere through the lens and fail miserably.
Street artists, street performers accessible art to inspire those who will take notice. Those who are open to what is around them. You only have to open your eyes''
